2018 Fox Suspension upgrades.

The highly anticipated 2018 Fox lineup is about to hit our shelves and we're here to inform of all the great upgrades and improvements over their 2017 line.

The new AX fork

Right of the bat, Fox has dropped a new short travel fork catered to adventure and gravel grinder riders.  With the same FLOAT EVOL air spring and FIT 4 damper found on their longer travel forks, FOX has created a new fork that can completely change the way you ride your adventure bike!  With 40mm of travel and on-the-fly adjustments, the new AX will give you control, comfort and reduce fatigue on those long rides with your 700c gravel grinder.  To view the new AX fork, Click here.

Transfer dropper post.

Already one of the best droppers on the market, Fox tweaked some of the internals for better performance and reliability.  With a faster return speed, lower charge pressure, preloaded bushings and a bottom out bumper, the 2018 Transfer post feels more refined compared to the 2017 version.  We are HUGE advocates for dropper posts and feel they can benefit all riders and riding styles.  If you need help determining whether a Transfer will fit your frame, check out our blog post.  To view the Fox Transfer dropper posts, Click here.

DHX2 and Float X2

If you're the type of rider who loves descending on your Enduro or DH bike, then chances are that you're heard of the DHX2 and Float X2.  These shocks were highly regarded and sought after in 2017 and the 2018 versions bring some slight changes to improve performance.

The 2018 improvements are:

  • Improved oil flow.
  • Linear damping profile.
  • Better air seal (Float X2)

Together, these improvements create a plush feeling shock with outstanding small bump compliance, yet, still offers great support further in the travel.  Click here to view each shock - DHX2, Float X2

Float Evol air springs

Fox updated all the Float air springs for 2018 and these features save weight, improve small bump sensitivity and increase support throughout the travel.  As you can see from the photo below, the Evol air can provides a more linear rate compared to standard air cans.  This increases small bump sensitivity and provides better mid-stroke support.  Best of all, the Evol technology is found on 2018 forks!

All the 2018 improvements were thoroughly researched and developed with countless hours of testing with some of the worlds' best riders.  The 2018 line is the most refined lineup of Fox products to date and we can't wait to get our hands on it.  If you see anything marked out of stock, you can always sign up for an email notification for when the product is back in stock.

We are more than excited about the 2018 line, but don't forget, now is the time for some killer deals on 2017 products!  As always, we are here to answer any questions you may have.

Until next time,

Andrew Schneider.
