Description

Forget the struggle with bulky pads! The Slayer Knee pads from Dakine are so 'free' feeling, you might forget you're even wearing them! With a 4-way stretch mesh backing and ergonomic fit, the Slayers will ensure you stay comfortable throughout the entire ride. Most importantly, the CE-certified foam padding, 4-way stretch mesh, and abrasion-resistant cover ensure you are protected and keep the pads sitting where you need them.

Protection Style: These are an open back, slip-on style pad with a 4-way stretch construction to keep them in place. There are no Velcro straps on these pads so make sure you get the sizing right.

Materials:

  • Mesh back: 75% polyester, 25% nylon
  • Insert: CE Certified polyurethane impact foam

Closure or Slip-on: These are a slip-on style pad so there are no straps or anything like that.

Length of knee pad: The dimensions aren't stated by Dakine but the pads will extend a couple of inches above the knee and cover the knee and part of the shin.

Protection level: Light - Moderate protection level CE Certified EN 1621-1 Level 1

Removable protective inserts for washing: No, the inserts are not removable for washing

Pros: A low-profile pad that is comfortable enough to pedal around in all day and offers enough protection to keep your knees intact for pretty much any type of riding.

Cons: You'll have to make sure that you get the sizing right so that the pads stay in place and won't need to be readjusted all the time.

Tight but non slip knee pads

They are bit of a mission to get on but once they are on, they won't be coming off until it's shower time!

I am looking forward to seeing how they go long term, if they get a little looser...

The padding itself is good for most hits, it will save your skin in most cases.

    Very happy customer

Initially I ordered the wrong size, but with the help of the MTB Direct staff, I was able to get the correct size and am very happy with the fit.

They are tight and difficult to just slide on, but once they're in position, they aren't moving!

Light, not too hot and flexible enough to fit my movements.

    Good value and comfortable

Great pads, very comfortable, they stay up well, good value for money and the added bonus is that they are blue and black and so is my bike :)

    Great Pads

5 stars . Good vertical protection (they sit high above and below your knee). Super comfortable. Most important questions: are the comfortable and do they work in a crash? I've had mine 2 years, super comfortable for me, dont even know they are on. I've had 2 big OTB crashes and one other big crash (tore my AC shoulder) whilst jumping. Was wearing these knee pads and same dakine elbow pads. No injuries to knees or elbows and pads not damaged either. After 2+years both my elbows and knee pads are now a bit loose fitting at the top of the elastic (how long they last I guess depends on how often you ride). I will most likely buy another set of these. I'm 178cm and 70 kgs. Bought the M in Elbows and L in knee - they both fit firm when I bought them, but I would most likely pick M elbow and M knee the next purchase.
