The Shimano Deore XT BR-M8020 4-Piston Hydraulic Calipers are designed to offer improved braking performance to aggressive riders, providing 20-percent more stopping power when compared to the Shimano XT BR-M8000 brakes. The XT BR-M8020 callipers are also backwards compatible with the XT M8000 lever.

    BE WARNED!!!! Doesn't come with the Banjo bolt and the M8000 doesn't fit.

    I haven't been able to use these yet. Despite the fact that they are backwards compatible they DO NOT come with the banjo bolt and you cannot use the old M8000 banjo bolt. I'm not sure why Shimano didn't include the bolt with the Caliper only kit given they had to know that the M8000 bolt wouldn't fit and that obviously you would be pairing it with the older stuff which is why you are buying the caliper only in the first place. You MUST buy the bolt separately!!!! Also be aware the Shimano SM-BH90 disc brake hose is also NOT COMPATIBLE with this caliper as again the banjo bolt is the old M8000. The Shimano part number for the banjo bolt is Y8H001500 and according to the shimano site it is the same part number for the Saint M820 Banjo bolt. Hope this helps. I'm giving 3 stars as I have to give them something and I can't say good or bad yet as I haven't been able to use them. Shocker Shimano!!!!!!!

    Great bite for my bucks

    One ride in and not even bled to 100%, I'm impressed with this caliper and the braking power it delivers. Good product at a decent price, delivered in good time. Would be great to see the banjo bolt for sale too, as without this the caliper is unusable with M8000 levers and brake lines.
