Be sure to keep a tub of Slickoleum around. This product is perfect for the home mechanic that does their own suspension and bearing service.
Providing protection against corrosion and oxidation Slickoleum will not only prolong the life of components, it will also improve performance. Slickoleum is water insoluble and washout resistant meaning it will stay put in the harshest conditions.
It's super light consistency makes it perfect for use in rebuilds of suspension forks, shocks and dropper posts
Favourite feature?Gives what you use it on a friction free feel
Least favourite feature?Bit pricey
I needed this grease to do the service on my fork and shock. You apply it on the inside of the dust wipers before assembly. This stuff is amazingly slippery and it virtually eliminates friction on any parts you use it on. I am keen to give this a try on wheel bearings and free hub bearings when they need to be lubed again. It would probably work great in pedal bearings too.
This was recommended by my bike mechanic to use on dropper posts and suspension fork stanchions. Works well as far as I can tell. Maybe a little pricey... but not if prevents damage and increases service intervals for expensive dropper posts or forks!
