A revolutionary helmet for Enduro riders!
Anyone who has worn a full face helmet knows exactly how hot and uncomfortable they can be, this is especially true for Enduro racers! Fox listened to racers and developed the Proframe with Enduro in mind. While some companies have decided the utilise removable chin bars, Fox took another approach: keep weight down and offer market leading ventilation and protection. With 24 large vents (15 inlets, 9 exhaust) and a visor that helps channel air, you'll have the absolute best possible ventilation! Combined with its low weight (750g for a medium) this is a high performing full face for riders that need to charge up and down. Best of all, it is ASTM downhill certified!
The Proframe is perfect for riders who have ever contemplated deciding between their half shell or full face helmet. This helmet will give you full DH protection without all the discomfort of a hot and heavy full face.
Fidlock SNAP buckle is secure and fast.
MIPS - Multi Impact Protection System is employed to reduce the rotational forces on the brain in big crashes.
Varizorb - 2 different density ESP foams.
24 large vents.
Breathable anti-microbial liner.
Measured around the head just above the ears - where a hat would sit.
Crashed hard on Mount Buller at the end of December with what appears to be (no witnesses, no camera, no memory) a full facial impact that actually snapped the jaw piece in half. The jaw stayed together because of the rubber padding. The styrofoam cells on my forehead was basically shattered all the way to the shell. I was stretchered away from that incident without a neck injury or any kind of long term brain injury, in combination with a neck brace and goggles. The worst facial injury I sustained was a bruised cheek on the side that took the hit. For this alone, I have bought a second one of these helmets to replace the wrecked one. In terms of fit, the helmet comes with several different cheek pads and two different neck rolls so that it can be adjusted as required. This range of adjustment was enough to suit my round head as per the size chart, and was still good enough to fit my husband's oval head by going up one size for him. In terms of being able to pedal uphill, it's definitely doable, but I'd only recommend it outside of summer. Once the thermometer breaks the 20*C mark you probably want to grab a half lid. In terms of features, I absolutely love the magnetic clip. It's a breeze to use. The gap over the mouth area is also perfect for a small handlebar style bike light like the Azur 1000lm single beam.
